Success Story: Weather-Forecasting

I am excited to share with you a success story of how I helped a client develop a new business process for tracking contractors and forecasting weather using an app. My client had a problem scheduling contractors to install pools as weather often delayed their installation schedules, which led to a decline in customer satisfaction and increased costs. They approached me for help, and I suggested developing an app that would forecast the weather across scheduled contractor dates so they could be proactive about scheduling them if the weather was bad.

Together with the client, I designed a calendar dashboard that would highlight the days of the week if it was going to storm, making it easy for them to reschedule the contractor's installation dates. Additionally, I coded a routine that would allow them to reschedule the contractor inside their availability, notify the contractor of the change, and get the contractor to confirm that the date would work for them.

The new app and process greatly increased the contractors' efficiency, and they could perform the job quickly even when the weather could potentially push back their install dates. The client reported that their customer satisfaction scores had increased, and they were getting more positive reviews on social media and review sites.
